Bite Me

Oh I do enjoy the colours in the skin with this piece. Felt like doing a little painting for this lineart, thus this was made.

Aerrow Kneel

Lineart of Aerrow, a sky knight and leader of the Storm Hawks.

Storm Hawks is a Canadian CG animated show from Nerd Corps. It aired in the US on Cartoon Network.

Drawing based on how Aerrow is perched on Dark Ace's wing in episode 4 before the phoenix appears. I think the specific. Outfit done with help from ref sheets of the character to know what goes where.

Enjoy!

Gaze

Done in Photoshop CS 5.1
Not sure if I've said it already, but I've been drawing with a Monoprice tablet. Specifically this one. Good price, does what I need it to do. I like that the surface has a little grit to it, so it's a bit more like paper. No problems with the pen or the tip, though I've heard some people say it feels 'cheap'. It's no Wacom Cintiq, but to me it feels equatable to other tablets. I've used Intuos tablets, Graphires, Bamboos, and other Monoprice tablets, and at least for the drawings I'm doing this one works great for me. I'd recommend it.

Prints and skins available on my society 6.

Ken Corrupt

Drew this of Kenlokurai (click me to see!) and thought gee I really enjoy this jacket. I shall draw it again!
So I did.
Here he is again. Thought it was kinda cool having him looking to the side and the halftones in the back again, because in a weird way putting the other drawing and this one next to each other is sort of an implied diptych.
Anyway, enjoy!

Here's a set for you. Lineart, light, and dark versions.

What are little boys made of...?
Horns,

That's what little boys are made of.

Kenlokurai sitting on the floor

If you've been following ma schtoof you may remember some Kenlokurai drawings I put up in October 2012.
So here he is again.
I like the subtle use of color just for a little punctuation. Photoshop CS5.1

Kariya

Kariya Matou
The worms have claimed a lot, inside and out, including the appearance of the side of his face.
It's interested drawing someone in their mid twenties as something that's getting the life sucked out of it. The posture and structure of a younger person, but complicated by brittle hair, pale skin, and premature wrinkles.
I like him.

hey you
out there in the cold, always doing what you're told
can you help me?

Comic Boy

Went to the comic book shop today looking for some very specific issues, and I was incredibly happy with the visit.
The young man working was so handsome, and of course helpful. He found Batman and Robin #10 in the back and brought it out for me. Just what I was looking for!
Guy looked like a cross between Avan Jogia and Johnny Depp.
I'd never been to this store before for my comics but I'm compelled to go back now...

The Fight

While studying animation and video I learned that the foreground was supposed to be darkest, and things get lighter as you go back in storyboard. This is how you delineate foreground, middle ground and background. Seemed to work here though.
You can use your imagination as to the story behind this.

Kenlokurai

Probably my favorite reoccurring subject. Here's some sketches of Kenlokurai from the past few months. As usual, if you want to see larger versions, check out the drawings here. He's currently in his early twenties. Very sensitive, very empathetic. Tries to be very true to his morals and not resort to violence.

Why not, I guess.
So chipper in this.
This last one is a bit less timid Kenlokurai ready to maybe use violence... Not sure how I feel about that one? You know how it is, when you draw someone and your creation has whatever sort of history and life in your head. So he's almost cocky here.

Doodle Dude

Done in Photoshop 5.1
Fun doodle dood.
It's funny, when I was young I'd draw all these crazy elaborate outfits and now that I'm older I find myself sometimes having no ideas for clothing. Wawawa.
Many times when I draw I find myself creating pieces like some painters who have to paint the skeleton then muscle then skin then clothes, building up all those components even though with the final product you only see the top layer.
Whatevs. Peeps just have different processes and whatever works for you works for you.

Prints available here.

Intolerance

Part of my Project Playlist, art inspired by and created while listening to only 1 chosen song repeatedly. This drawing was done for the song Intolerance by Tool. Ooooh MJK, your voice is amazing!
 Done in Photoshop CS 5.1
See it larger here.
I let the style be more sketchy and unpolished that my usual pieces cause I just loved the original shape of the face (see below). This is actually more reminiscent of my style in the early and mid teens.
